We have a clear and comprehensive behaviour policy which is followed by all staff.
Learning mentors provide social skills support for children both inside and outside the classroom.
We believe pupil voice is important and have an active school council to enable us to find out the views of learners. These views are then discussed with parents put in place for implementation.
Assembly themes often promote pastoral care e.g. how to deal with bullying.
Staff model appropriate behaviour through their interactions with pupils and other staff. P4C is also run in the school, this looks to support emotional and social development within our pupils.
Relevant staff are trained to support medical needs and if children need to take medication they go to our welfare room where they are supervised.
Attendance is monitored regularly and letters are sent home to parents if attendance falls below 85%. Parents are required to phone the school on the first day of a child’s absence. We award certificates to children for good attendance on a termly basis.
In the case of an exclusion there would be a meeting with the Head teacher involving both the parents and the child to share concerns and agree expectations for a return to school.
