At Monega we follow the National Curriculum for all subjects. The curriculum contains the programmes of study and attainment targets for all subjects, at all key stages. All local authority-maintained schools in England must be teaching these programmes of study from September 2014.
Please see below for the details of the National Curriculum for Computing.
ICT at Monega is used in a variety of ways to help enhance pupils' learning. Every effort is made to help each child acquire knowledge and skills relevant to adult life in a fast changing technological world. Our computer suite enables us to teach ICT skills, including e-mail and safe access to the internet, to class groups.
In addition, most year groups have access to a class set of laptops. This enables ICT to be embedded across all areas of the curriculum.
All classrooms have an interactive whiteboard which is used in every teaching area to engage and motivate pupils and encourage the further development of ICT skills.
Throughout every key stage, children learn a wide variety of ICT skills including programming, word processing, data handling, control technology, information retrieval, digital photography and games to reinforce concepts from other curriculum areas.
